Raku-Fired Stoneware: A Fusion of Organic and Inorganic Artistry

These three distinct stoneware pieces stand as a testament to the transformative power of fire, crafted through the ancient Japanese Raku technique. Fired at a blistering 1200°C, each piece undergoes a metamorphosis, where the elements of earth, air, and fire unite, giving birth to unique textures, cracks, and colors that cannot be replicated.

These works took center stage at the prestigious "Organic-Inorganic" International Symposium and Exhibition, hosted at Gölcük University, Turkey, in 2015. This event brought together artists and students from around the world, merging academic study with creative exploration. The juxtaposition of organic forms with inorganic material in these stoneware pieces reflects the exhibition’s core theme—blurring the boundaries between the natural and man-made.
